At a press conference Mauro Mellini and Marco Pannella announce the founding of the LID (League for the Institution of Divorce). The popular weekly ABC (Managing Editor - Enzo SABATO) reported on all Radical initiatives on divorce in the following months.

MARCH - Italy: Milan - Antimilitarism

Four months after their action (distribution of antimilitarist flyers) was contested, the brothers Lorenzo and Andrea STRIK LIEVERS and other demonstrators are arrested. After being detained for fifteen days, they are tried and, later, acquitted because "the action did not constitute a crime." Ernesto ROSSI, Ferruccio PARRI, and parliamentarians Terracini and Bertoldi, intervened in the defendants’ favour.

The Milanese section of the War Resisters’ International celebrates the World Day of the Prisoner for Peace, in favour of conscientious objectors. About a dozen demonstrators chain themselves to the railing of an underground station, confusing and creating difficulties for the police who tried to arrest them.
